Arsha Vidya Vikas Kendra is a non-governmental, non-commercial non-profit making institution based in Bhubanewar, Orissa. Its primary aim is to expose the study of Advaita Vedanta, Sanskrit and Indian Culture to the educated mass in the state and outside. Arsha Vidya’s approach is holistic, and aims to touch the mind of the educated intellectuals and free thinkers.

‘Arsha Vidya Vikas Kendra’ was started by Swamini Atmaprajnananda Saraswati with the blessings of His Holiness Pujya Swami Dayananda Saraswati Swamini studied Vedanta, Panini with him and other acaryas in Rishikesh, Coimbatore and Saylorsburg (USA) since 1997. Additionally, she studied Sanskrit at University level with specialization in Paninian grammar, along with portions of the Vedas (Rg, Yajus and Atharva), Sanskrit literature, Temple-architecture and Epigraphy. After leading thirteen years of monastic life, Swamini took sannyasa from Pujya Swamiji in March 2008, And joined his existing 150 Disciple-Sannyasis.

Swamini has conducted many short-term certificate-courses in Vedanta, Panini and Vedic-chanting till date. She has personally participated in many national seminars and international conferences and has spoken at various colleges and universities.

Arsha Vidya Outreach

The centre is actively involved in various community service activities such as distribution of food, clothes, books, tree-plantation, organizing medical camps, blood donation camps. It also supports many NGOs working at grass-root level, and many organisations with similar activities.

Arsha Vidya Library

The centre maintains a well-equipped library comprising 2,000 books on the Vedas, Upanishads, Bhagavadgita, Brahmasutra, Prakarana Granthas, Sanskrit Literature, Dharmasastras, Suktas, Dictionaries & Encyclopaedia, Other schools of Philosophies, Indian History & Culture, Iconography, Archaeology, Temples of India/Orissa, Psychology / Human-relationships, English Classics, Fiction and Non-fiction, Management, Biographies, Fine-arts, Music, Dance, Painting,/Films/Travels, Indian Literature, Health, Yoga and Meditation that are available for reference and reading.

There are invaluable photographs of all the local temples of Bhubaneswar, Jain caves of Udaygiri and Khandagiri, Ashoka’s rock inscription at Dhauli, Budhhist sites at Lalitagiri and Ratnagiri personally photographed by Swamini.

The centre also houses 1,000 hours of Hindustani classical music in various forms, available for listening to the connoisseurs of music.

Individuals in the field of education and connoisseurs of music and fine arts are requested to extend their co-operation by their regular presence and moral support.
